14k Gold Fill
14k Gold Fill is a high quality, affordable alternative to Solid Gold. It consists of a thick layer of solid gold bonded to a base metal, usually brass. 14k Gold Fill has 100 times more gold alloy than Gold Plated, and the thicker layer of gold makes it more resistant to tarnishing. This means that 14k Gold Filled jewelry lasts longer and doesn't tarnish easily.
Your 14k Gold Fill Jewelry can last a lifetime if properly cared for! I suggest storing your jewelry away from the elements, especially humidity. Avoid direct contact with water, perfumes and lotions, these things have potential to oxidize your jewelry. Use the included polishing cloth to restore your jewelry to its original shine.
24k Gold Dipped & Electroformed Jewelry
My gold dipped jewelry undergoes a process called electroforming to prepare them for a gold dip bath. Each piece is hand-painted in conductive paint, then suspended in an acid solution that uses an electric current to adhere real metal to the painted areas. There are a ton of tedious steps to this process, but the outcome is a nickel-free metal coating that I can then dip in gold. Each piece gets a thick plating of real 24k gold before being polished and finishing touches added, all in my home studio.
Ethical & Sustainable
All shells used in my jewelry and ring dishes are gathered by hand from local Connecticut beaches. All shells have naturally washed ashore, empty and bleached by the sun. I personally collect all shells, no oysters or oyster beds were harmed, and no oysters were used for consumption.
I use only sustainably sourced pearls and recycled gold filled metals in my jewelry.
